Cumberland Farms Celebrates Reopening With AYFS Fundraiser

by | Jul 14, 2014

The new Cumberland Farms at 502 Washington St. (Rt. 20) held a grand reopening event on Thursday, July 10. The former gas station and convenience store was razed and rebuilt in the chain’s “new concept” format.

Cumberland Farms marketing representative, Matt Balaschi, announced that between July 10 and August 7, the store will be donating $.10 from every Tasty Beverage sold to Auburn Youth and Family Services. Tasty Beverages include hot and cold coffee, brewed tea, fountain sodas, and anything from the Chill Zone.

The “new concept” store features a bright, open space.  The chain is trying to focus more on fresh food products, and a wide selection of sandwiches, fresh salads, pastry and hot food like pizza are available.

AYFS director Sally D’Arcangelo was on hand along with AYFS board members Bob Moffat and Lynne Ellis to announce the fundraiser as well as to help with the ribbon cutting.  Cumberland Farms gave away samples of their new fresh food offerings, and all Tasty Beverages were free for most of the afternoon.  WSRS 96.1 was also on hand giving away tickets and gift certificates.
