On Monday evening Auburn Fire Rescue Chief Stephen M. Coleman Jr. was named one of Quinsigamond Community Colleges 50 Guardians.

As part of QCC’s 50th Anniversary celebration it is highlighting 50 exemplary alumni, who have distinguished themselves as “guardian protectors” in their communities. The first 30 guardians have been chosen by a cross-campus panel of individuals from QCC staff, faculty, alumni association, current students and the QCC Foundation and Trustees boards.

Chief Coleman attended Quinsigamond Community College and graduated with an associate’s degree in fire science. Coleman continued his education at Anna Maria College where he received his bachelors in fire science and then received his master’s degree in public administration from Clark University.

Chief Coleman joined the Auburn Fire Rescue Department in 2006 as the Deputy Fire Chief. He was appointed Chief in May of 2011 by Town Manager Julie Jacobson.
