Participants get ready before Walk’N Roll 2012.

This year’s Walk ‘N Roll will be held October 5th in Auburn (rain date is Oct. 6).  The goal is to raise $20,000 to help fund over 90 promising research programs.  Some of this important research is taking place right here in Massachusetts at hospitals such as University of Massachusetts, Boston Children’s Hospital, Tufts Floating Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Registration begins at 9am at the Lemansky Park track, 400 Oxford St., Auburn. The walk begins at 10am. In addition to the walk (or roll), there will be food, music, raffles and fun. All proceeds from the event are donated to the National Ataxia Foundation.

Ataxia affects coordination, speech and swallowing. Ataxia can strike at any age, and is an often fatal degenerative neurological disorder. At this time, there is no known cure.
