Joan M. (Riordan) Williams, 71, of Auburn died Monday, May 19, 2014, in her home. 

Her husband of 44 years, John P. Williams, died in 2006. She leaves her children, Michael J. Williams and his wife, Kaidi, of Jersey City, N.J.; Stephen P. Williams of Worcester; Susan M. Palma and her husband, Christopher, of Guilford, CT; and Sean P. Williams and his wife, Marilyn, of New York, NY; five grandchildren, Audrey, Nia, Joey, Maeve and John; her siblings John Riordan of New York, NY; Kathleen Riordan of North Carolina; Michael Riordan of Worcester; and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Joan was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John F. and Jacqueline M. (Cotter) Riordan. She graduated from St. Stephen’s High School and later received a degree in Accounting from Quinsigamond College. She had worked as a payroll manager for Cullinan Engineering in Auburn for many years before she retired.

Joan was a member of the Red Hat Society, traveled the world and was an avid reader of mystery novels.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass that will celebrate Joan’s life on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 11:30 AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn. Burial will be at a later date in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial donations can be made in her name and sent to SARAH Foundation, at 246 Goose Lane, Suite 104, Guilford, CT 06437.
