by | May 26, 2014

The Chester P. Tuttle American Legion Post 279 hosts the annual Memorial Day Parade Monday beginning at 10am.  The parade features the Melha Temple Shriners and their beloved miniature cars, trucks and planes.

The parade begins at Rockland Road and will proceed down Auburn St., past the Auburn Mall, up Central St., and finishing at Hillside Cemetery.  A memorial ceremony will be held at the cemetery after the parade.

Also participating in this year’s parade are a number of veterans’ groups, Auburn Fire and Police, local dignitaries, and the public school marching bands.

Former Department Commander Thomas Shoemaker and Post Chaplain Phyllis Gallant will lead the ceremony at Hillisde Cemetery. Several local dignitaries and Auburn students will present tributes to veterans, and there will be a performance by the Auburn High School Band.
