Online Giving Event Can Benefit Four Auburn Non-Profits

by | May 3, 2014

The Greater Worcester Community Foundation is sponsoring a one day, online giving event called Greater Worcester Gives.  Through the program, local non-profits were given the opportunity to register as a recipient organization, and bonuses are awarded to the group(s) with the most pledges or most money donated at various points in the day.

For 24 hours, between 12:00am through 11:59pm on Tuesday, May 6, donors can make gifts of $25 or more to participating nonprofits that are located in or provide services in Worcester County.  Organizations are grouped by those with budgets over $1 million, and those under $1 million.  Prizes are awarded to the leader in each category for largest number of donations as well as for largest total dollar amounts. There is also a  mid-day bonus of $1,000 for the organization with the greatest number of donations as of 2pm on Tuesday.

In Auburn, the Auburn Historical Society, Auburn Youth and Family ServicesPakachoag Music School of Greater Worcester and the Worcester Youth Orchestra are all registered participants.  On the Greater Worcester Gives website, donors choose their preferred organization and can complete the donation online with a credit card.

This is a great, fun and easy way to provide some much needed funding to three great area non-profits.
