Auburn Mass Daily partner and photographer John Anderson provided images to Auburn High School for their submission to Mount Wachusett Community College’s TAMY awards this week in support of the recent Footloose production.
According to AHS instrumental music teacher Virginia Bailey, “The TAMY’s are an awards program affiliated with Theatre at the Mount, the theater in residence at Mount Wachusett Community College. It’s designed to recognize the various elements and work that goes into producing a musical production at the high school level. It’s a lot like a local Tony Awards or Academy Awards event: Actors and Actresses, pit band, set and lighting design, costumes, crew, etc. can all be nominated. They sent a panel of judges to watch our production (some came Friday, some came on Saturday). We don’t know if any aspects of our production have been nominated yet, but hopefully! The awards are sometime in mid-May.”
We are certainly rooting for an award, or two, or six for this outstanding production. Today’s slide show is of a few images selected for the submission but not in previous slide show.
Rest assured that we are continuing to develop our e-commerce site for photograph purchases. It is not as simple as it seems, and we do not want to crash our newspaper. We’ll let you know when it is up and running.
