The Auburn Municipal Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that it will be awarding a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a deserving June 2014 graduate.
The student must be a resident of Auburn and been accepted at a four-year or a two-year college, full or part-time, carrying a minimum of nine (9) academic credits. The student must show a need for financial assistance, be a person of good character, show evidence of a good scholastic record, have participated in extra-curricular activities while in high school, and given back to his/her community through volunteer work. In addition, the recipient must begin attending a four-year or two-year institution by the fall of 2015, otherwise failure to do so will result in the loss of the Auburn Municipal Scholarship award.
Applications are available on Naviance (for Auburn High School seniors) and in the Guidance Office at Auburn High School (for Auburn residents who do not attend Auburn High School) and are due by April 17, 2014.
The Municipal Scholarship Fund is derived from donations made by Auburn residents on their quarterly real estate tax bills. All funds raised go directly to Auburn graduates who meet the criteria established by the Scholarship Committee and in keeping with MGL Chapter 60, Section 3(c).
