BOSTON- Senator Michael O. Moore (D-Millbury) has been appointed by Senate President Therese Murray (D-Plymouth) to serve on the Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board (MWIB).

“I would like to thank Senate President Therese Murray for appointing me to serve on the Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board. It is truly a great honor. As a member of the board, I will continue to advocate for partnerships between the Commonwealth’s institutions of public higher education and employers to properly train our students to meet the needs of the 21 Century economy. I will also be a strong voice for economic development and opportunities for Central Massachusetts and the Second Worcester District,” stated Senator Moore.

The Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board is a 65-member board that advises the governor on building a strong workforce development system that is aligned with state education policies and economic development goals. The goal of the MWIB is to ensure that workers have the proper skills to compete for job and to meet the needs of employers in Massachusetts.
