Shrewsbury Wins 7-1

On Wednesday night, the boys hockey team faced powerhouse Shrewsbury and were overwhelmed by the number 1 ranked hockey team in Central Mass.

The Rockets held their own in the first period and allowed only a single goal. The second period, however, was owned by the Colonials as they scored four more times. The Rockets only had a handful of drives into their scoring end.

31 seconds into the third, Auburn’s Paul O’Leary scored with an assist by Ryan Mulcahy. Two ensuing Shrewsbury scores capped the evening. The Colonials skate well, shoot hard, and are a good physical team.

Auburn goalie worked extremely hard and registered 35 saves on the night. Shrewsbury keeper Shane Gorrie had 7. Auburn has a tough schedule this winter as they face nearly all D1 schools.
