Kilene M. (Paxton) Powers, 27, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, March 27, 2022 in the comfort of her home, with her loving family at her side.

She leaves her devoted husband, William D. Powers, Jr.; her mother, Wendy (Eaton) Paxton; her father, Gregory Paxton; her grandparents: Francis and Susan Eaton, F. Leanne Boyle, and Linda and Gerald Paxton; her siblings: Alexander Press, Timothy, Taylor, and Riley Paxton; her mother-in-law, Sharon Powers; her father-in-law, William D. Powers, Sr. and his wife Julie; her uncle, with whom she was very close, Dean Eaton; her aunt Susan Corwin and her husband Bruce; her nephew, Killian Cayer; as well as many cousins, friends, and her beloved cats.

Kilene was born in Orange Park, FL. As the daughter of a Navy Airman, she lived in many places during her childhood and was exceptionally good at making new friends. She spent most of her teen years in Massachusetts and attended Swanson Middle and Auburn High School. She held positions as a waitress, a Certified Nursing Assistant, and most recently, was the Manager of Alvin’s Restaurant in Miami, Florida.

She was a lifelong animal lover, and never met an animal she didn’t like – but horses, and her cats, were her favorite. Kilene loved horseback riding, music, attending concerts, and writing. She loved adventure, fast rollercoasters, high zip-lines, and held a NH state boating license.

She made friends everywhere she went and cultivated these friendships for many years. Kilene will be remembered for her heart of gold, her kindness, her incredible strength, her fantastic wit and her amazing spirit – even in the face of cancer, she never once gave up hope.

Her family would like to express their appreciation for the doctors and nurses who cared for Kilene on this journey. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations in Kilene’s memory to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606 (https://worcesterarl.org/donate/).
