MILLBURY – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing traffic impacts for I-90 eastbound and westbound at exit 96 (Route 122) in Millbury. These closures will occur starting Thursday evening March 24, and continue into Friday morning, March 25, to allow bridge beam erection operations to take place.

Overnight lane closures will be in place on I-90 eastbound and westbound in the vicinity of exit 96 from 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, through 5:00 a.m. on Friday, March 25.

The I-90 eastbound on-ramp from Route 122 will be closed during overnight hours from 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, through 5:00 a.m. on Friday, March 25. Traffic looking to enter I-90 at this location will be directed to follow the detour signage in place and use Route 20 westbound to I-90 exit 94.

During the night work, there will be limited I-90 eastbound and westbound rolling rock-blocks to allow bridge beam erection to take place. This will require brief holds of traffic in the vicinity of the exit 96 and will take place between 11:59 p.m. and 3 a.m. the following morning.

This work is being undertaken as part of the $10 million Millbury-Superstructure Replacement at Interchange 96.
