Robert W. “Bobby” Houston, Jr., 71, of Auburn, and most recently of Saint Francis Nursing Home, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Worcester, raised and educated in Auburn, Bobby was one of four children born to the late Robert W. Houston, Sr. and Beatrice G. (Tenney) Houston. He attended Auburn High School, and began his career working for the family business, Industrial Suppliers of Worcester, where he was a truck driver. He worked for several Worcester companies, before working for the former Sears Warehouse in Auburn.
In his younger years, Bobby and his sisters were competitive Championship Roller-skaters, performing at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, and Roller-skating remained a passion of his. He also loved fishing, hunting, bowling, and softball, which he played on a men’s league in Auburn. Bobby enjoyed cheering on all the New England sports teams, and adored his cats, Cupcake, whom he lovingly called “Baby,” and Bubba.
He leaves his sisters: Sandra A. Guinto and her husband Robert Guinto, Sr., of Conway, SC, Deborah A. Houston, of Auburn, and Patricia A. Houston, of Lewes, DE; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, including his close nephew and fishing buddy, Rob Guinto, Jr.; his close cousin, Sam Houston, of Auburn; his best friend, Tommy Power, of Worcester; and many extended family members.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Houston family from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St., Auburn, with a service beginning at 5:45. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
