James E. “Jim” Belk, 78, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 25, 2022 at home, with his lovingly family at his side.

He leaves his beloved wife of 23 years, Doris E. (Lindberg) Belk; his children, George, James, both of Maine, and Kimberly, of Holden; his wife’s children, Eileen White and her husband Edward, of Hubbardston, John Carrigan, of Worcester, Steven Carrigan, of Oxford, Noreen Mackie and her husband William, of Buzzard’s Bay; his grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as “Grampy Jim,” Kenneth Bennett, of Auburn, Nicole Bennett, of Worcester, Emily and Zakery White, of Hubbardston, Ethan Mulhearn, of Rutland, Logan Carrigan, of Rutland, Victoria and William Mackie, of Buzzards Bay; his sisters, Marilyn Charland, of Worcester, and Frances Fierro and her husband Bob; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his brothers, William and Robert Belk; and their parents, William and Etta (Fletcher) Belk.

Jim was born, raised, and educated in Worcester, graduating from Worcester Boys Trade School, specializing in Machinery. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1962 to 1966, during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged. Jim had an extensive career as a Machinist for Morgan Construction for over thirty years before retiring.

In his free time, Jim loved being outside, whether it be hunting, camping with his grandchildren, or fishing. He also loved bowling, at Auburn 10 Pin and in Shrewsbury. Jim was a member of the Greendale Retired Men’s Club.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Belk family from 9 – 10 AM on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St., Auburn, MA, with a service to follow at 10 AM. Burial, with military honors, will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
