Marjorie I. “Marge” (Bocash) Thomas, 84, of North Oxford and formerly of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 16, 2022 with her loving family by her side.

She leaves her sister, Norma Standring; her cousin, who was like a sister to Marge, Charlene Fogarty; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and her special friend, Mary Loftus. Marge was predeceased by her son, Stephen Thomas, in 1996; as well as her parents, Charles and Dorothy I. (Ekberg) Bocash.

Born in Worcester, raised and educated in Auburn, she was a graduate of Auburn High School, Class of 1955. From there, she went on to attend and graduate from Quinsigamond Community College’s Nursing program. Later in life, she also received her Master Gardener degree. Marge had an extensive career as a Register Nurse working for UMASS Memorial Hospital, from which she retired.

Marge, in her free time, loved painting, making her own crafts, and photography. She truly loved spending time in nature, whether it be tending to her perennials or simply birdwatching. Marge was a loving presence in the lives on her family and friends, and will be sorely missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Appalachian Mountain Club (https://www.outdoors.org/).

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Marge’s family from 5 – 7 PM on Monday, January 31, 2022 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St., Auburn, where masks will kindly be required. Burial will be held privately.
