Norman A. “Bubba” Fanion, Sr., 87, of Auburn, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in the loving care of the Quaboag Rehab and Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield.

He leaves his loving wife of 65 years, Elizabeth A. (Shea) Fanion; his children, Cheryl A. Setterlund and her husband Stanley, of Leicester, Arthur W. Fanion and his wife Sharon, of Spencer, Donna M. Camarra, of Auburn, Russell J. Fanion, of Sterling, Denise J. Fagan and her husband Colin, of Charlton, and Norman A. Fanion, Jr., of Auburn; his grandchildren, Eric, Elise, Corey, Zachary, Megan, Jesse, Cody, Ashley, Tyler, Jason, Jessica, and Norman III; his great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Victoria, Norman IV, Addison, and Harlon; his brother, Paul Fanion, of Oxford, NC; and his niece and nephews.

Born and raised in Worcester, Bubba was one of two sons of the late Arthur H. Fanion and Ora P. (Plouffe) Fanion. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School, and soon after, enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Proudly serving his country for two years, Norman then returned home and married the love of his life. He and Elizabeth settled in Auburn to begin raising their family, and there they remained, on Boyce Street. Norman was a self-employed carpenter, and worked for several area contractors, for many years.

In his free time, he enjoyed playing cribbage with his granddaughter, Ashley, finish work and toy-making, working on classic cars, and playing cards. Bubba was a longtime member of the Chester P. Tuttle American Legion Post #279. He will be deeply missed by his beloved family – spending time with them was a true joy.
