Charles L. “Chuck” Allen, 83, of Auburn, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, with his loving family at his side. His beloved wife of 58 years, the late Gloria J. (LaBouef) Allen, predeceased him last year.
He leaves his daughter, Kathleen Stockhaus, also of Auburn; his grandchildren, Shane Brien and his fiancée Makenzie Holm, and Katelyn Wambugu and her husband Nicholas Mwangi; his great-grandchildren, Aaliyah and Aayden Maina, all of Dudley; his siblings, Betsy Emery and her husband Robert, and Richard Allen and his wife Vera, all of Paden City, West Virginia; his sister-in-law, Mary Allen, of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his beloved dog, Brody, who never left his side. Along with his wife, Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Lelah (Starcher) Allen; his brother, Ernest Allen; and his best friends, Mick and Ernie.
Born, raised, and educated in Paden City, WV, Chuck was a graduate of Paden City High School. He moved north and settled in Massachusetts, beginning his 27-year career with Worcester Controls. Chuck later retired from Honematic Machine Corp. in Boylston after another lengthy career.
Chuck was a proud veteran, who served in the U.S. Air Force. He was past president of Local #8216 Steel Workers Union, and was also a Mason, of the Massachusetts Freemasons. Above everything, he cherished spending time with his grandkids and travelling to watch them play their sports.
Chuck’s family would like to sincerely thank the JHC Hospice for their compassion and care throughout this difficult time.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Allen family from 9:30 – 11 AM on Monday, October 18, 2021 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn, followed by a service at 11 AM. Burial with military honors will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
