Edward J. “Ed” Fancy, 66, longtime Auburn resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
Born in Worcester, raised and educated in Auburn, Ed was one of three children born to the late Edward E. and Edith E. (Dionne) Fancy. He was a graduate of Auburn High School, Class of 1973. Upon graduating, he went to work with his brother, the late Jim Fancy, working as a home improvement contractor for many years.
Ed was a daily fixture of the Auburn Elks, loved participating and cooking for events there. He also loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Along with his parents and his brother Jim, he was also predeceased by his sister, Theresa J. Fancy. Ed leaves his sister-in-law, Ann Fancy, of Auburn; his aunt, Ruth Dionne, of Oxford; his nephews, Christopher Fancy, of Auburn, and Stephen Fancy, of Maryland; and his niece, Nicole Fancy, of Auburn; his cousin, Melody Siplas and her husband, Tom of Oxford.
Services will be held at a later date, for family and friends. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
