About Tim Kane

Tim Kane thrives in challenging, creative, and collaborative music environments including theater pit bands, a rock tribute group, drum circle facilitation, jazz ensembles, drum set and percussion instruction, and writing/blogging. He recently completed continuing educational studies in music therapy and piano at Berklee College of Music.

A lifelong student of the drum set, Tim branched out 10 years ago to develop a public and private therapeutic hand drumming program in Massachusetts for both kids and senior citizens. He became a certified drum circle facilitator and currently serves as curator and board member for the international Drum Circle Facilitators Guild. He continues to blog about drumming and drum education while performing throughout New England with his popular touring trop-roc and samba quintet, The Island Castaways Band.

Music making is an excellent therapeutic, cardiovascular, and fun exercise! The magic is discovered as the group builds upon its own creations, playing along to back-up track music from New Orleans jazz, the Amazon, Native American Territories, and South American rain forests. Join us in the drum circle!
