Senate President Karen Spilka has appointed Senator Michael Moore to the Civil Service Commission; a special legislative commission to study and examine the civil service law, personnel administration rules, hiring procedures and by-laws for municipalities not subject to the civil service law and state police hiring practices.

“I am grateful and honored to have been appointed to this commission by Senate President Spilka,” said Senator Moore (D-Millbury). “The Civil Service Commission plays an important role in understanding and monitoring all aspects of civil service law in the Commonwealth, and I take great pride in now being part of this process. I look forward to getting to work with my fellow members of this commission.”

Senator Moore was appointed by the Senate President by her authority under section 107 of Chapter 253 of the Acts of 2020. The Commission itself was established as part of the police reform legislation, An Act Relative to Justice, Equity and Accountability in Law Enforcement in the Commonwealth
