Applications for the Greater Worcester Community Foundation Scholarship Program are now being accepted. One application opens the door to more than 130 scholarship awards for high school seniors seeking college tuition assistance for the 2021-22 academic year.
Scholarship opportunities through the Foundation are varied. For example, there are specific scholarship opportunities for high school seniors who are the first in their family to attend college; those pursuing careers in direct patient care; those planning to major in mathematics or actuarial science; and Black students pursuing careers in bioscience, mathematics, engineering, and physics.
Awards range in size from $300 to $5,000 – many of which are renewable for multiple years of a student’s education – and are made based on a number of eligibility criteria including financial need, area of study, community involvement, high school, and hometown among others.
Applications for the GWCF Scholarship Program can be submitted on the Foundation’s website and will be accepted until March 1, 2021 at 5 p.m. Recipients will be announced in June 2021.
Since 1978, $12.6 million in scholarships has been awarded to support the academic goals of Worcester County students. For more information about the GWCF Scholarship Program, please contact Liz Nye, Scholarship Program Officer, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
