Anita C. (St. Onge) Sweeney, 78, of Auburn and formerly of Worcester, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 with her family at her side after a long stand with pancreatic cancer.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 58 years, Edward C Sweeney Jr. and her children Edward C Sweeney, III (Buzzy) and his wife Cherrie of Princeton and daughter Kathleen M Stanley and her husband Robert of Charlton. She also leaves a brother Kenneth and his wife Diane St. Onge of Worcester and sister Nancy Baroud of Florida and is pre-deceased by a brother Dr. Richard St. Onge of New Hampshire and Robert St. Onge of Worcester, four grandchildren, Leah Stanley, Cole Stanley, Abigael Sweeney and Nevin Sweeney as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Anita was born in Worcester daughter of Lionel and Genevieve (Lukaszewicz) St. Onge and graduated from Commerce High School in 1960. Anita worked in receiving at Sears for over 20 years. She and her husband are long-time local antique dealers and have not missed selling in Brimfield for 29 years as well as Jeffrey’s Antiques in Lunenburg. She was beautiful, fashionable and glamourous and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She loved life and everything about it.

Anita and Ed were very active in the Auburn Senior Center, organizing many card games, parties and sharing in life and also delivered meals on wheels for 15 years. She loved her family, cats, gardening, cooking and watching the birds. Anita was sick for two years, yet remarkably continued vivaciously enjoying life and working in her antique business and will always be cherished and loved by all. She will be missed enormously.

Calling hours are 3:30-5:30 PM on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St, Auburn, and a private graveside service will be held on Friday. Masks and social distancing will be required at the funeral home.
