Simon Properties based in Indianapolis, IN and owner of the the Auburn Mall has sold a portion of the property to Florida-based KA Real Estate. The portion of the mall involved in the $50.2 million sales includes the current Reliant Medical Group offices. The Reliant facility is the former Macy’s Home Goods store. It was renovated by Reliant prior to their move from the former Reliant space on Millbury St. in Auburn. That property is currently undergoing renovation to become the Webster Five corporate headquarters.

According to a statement from Reliant, the real estate transaction will not have any effect on Reliant’s operations at the mall location, and that they are not moving.

There has been additional discussion between Simon Property Group and Amazon about using former Sears and JC Penney locations as Amazon warehousing and operations facilities. No announcement has been made on whether this may become a reality in Auburn.
