The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing work on the bridge that carries Hammond Hill Road over Interstate 90 in Charlton. During the work, the bridge will be closed to traffic from Sunday, August 9, at 9:00 p.m., until 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11.
Signage and messaging will be in place to notify drivers of this closure and detour. Traffic will be directed to follow the detour in place and utilize Stafford Street and Route 20.
MassDOT encourages drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to minimize delays. Those traveling through the area should expect delays and should reduce speed and use caution.
