Two peaceful protests took place in Auburn this weekend, a reflection of the nationwide outrage reignited by the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25.
On Friday evening, dozens of protesters gathered at Lemansky Park during a silent protest across from the Auburn Police station.
On Saturday morning, and estimated 200 people gathered at the Auburn Library and marched down Southbridge St. (Rt. 12). Police and Town DPW had sectioned off the rightmost lane of the northbound side of Rt. 12, although marchers mostly stayed on the sidewalk. The marchers were vocal, peaceful and respectful. There were no incidents according to officials.
