There will be a public hearing held online via Zoom to discuss the Auburn Public Schools fiscal year 2021 budget on Monday, April 27 at 6:00PM.
The proposed FY 2021 school budget is $27,676,055. The total amount requested reflects an increase of $741,898 or 2.75% above the amount appropriated in FY 2020, according to a statement from Superintendent Dr. Maryellen Brunelle.
More detailed information about the budget can be found at www.auburn.k12.ma.us. Once there, you will find a link on the top navigation bar titled, “District.” Click on “School Budget” and contained within that link are the Budget Presentations made to the School Committee in November 2019 that include goals for FY 2021 and a copy of the proposed budget.
Also from the statement, Dr. Brunelle says: “You are encouraged to email your questions to me in advance of the Public Hearing, ideally by Friday, April 24 at 3:00 p.m.
“Please know that the format will be slightly revised: rather than each Leadership Team member reading every line within their school’s/department‘s budget, they will instead read aloud the total budgetary request for their school or department with any questions being addressed before moving on to the next school or departmental budget.”
