Storytelling; ‘The Legend of the Silver Pinecone’ at library Friday

by | Nov 20, 2019

Join the Auburn Public Library as they welcome Mary Jo Maichack, children’s professional folktale and musical artist.

Children will delight in Mary Jo’s narration of this folk tale about a poor woman whose children are cold and hungry and are helped by a magical forest elf. Children will interact with the story as Mary Jo sings and expertly threads the tale through the magic of her storytelling.

The folk tale ends with children creating a beautiful, glittering pine cone they can take home.

The program will be held Friday, November 22nd from 4:00pm – 5:00pm at Auburn Public Library, 369 Southbridge St., Auburn. Children must be ages 4.5 – 10. Younger siblings are welcome to remain in the back play area of the Merriam Room with an adult during the program.

Registration is required: Register online at  or call or visit the Library for assistance. This program is partially funded by the Auburn Cultural Council.
