Senator Michael O. Moore (D-Millbury) announced that Worcester Envelope Company received an award for being a leading manufacturing company within the Commonwealth. As a member of the Legislature’s Manufacturing Caucus, Senator Moore nominated Worcester Envelope Company for the statewide recognition earlier this year.
The company was founded in 1893 and has evolved to become an industry leader with a particular focus on customer service. In addition to producing seven million envelopes per day, Worcester Envelope Company provides an array of mailing and logistical services while operating a 100,000 square foot printing facility. The company was one of 78 companies in Massachusetts awarded by the Manufacturing Caucus for their manufacturing achievements.
“Worcester Envelope Company is a well-known and highly respected family business in our region that has operated for more than one hundred twenty-five years,” said Senator Moore. “An important part of the company’s long-term success has been its ability to provide unparalleled quality while evolving to meet the needs of the market. The company employs many local residents and is an important component of our region’s vibrant economy. I was proud to nominate Worcester Envelope Company for this recognition.”
A formal awards ceremony was held at the State House this month to provide legislators with an opportunity to acknowledge manufacturers from their respective districts that stand out as employers, innovators, and model businesses.
Formed in August 2014, the Manufacturing Caucus includes more than 40 legislators from across the Commonwealth. The goal of the caucus is to increase Massachusetts’ competitiveness in manufacturing through legislative initiatives including efforts to close the skills gap. Lawmakers focus on training for manufacturing employees, helping start-ups access innovative resources, and expanding apprenticeship opportunities in key manufacturing sectors.
