1:15 A.M Sunday morning, Auburn Police Officers responded to a crash at Bucks’ Roadside BBQ located at 744 Southbridge Street. Investigation revealed that a 20 year old Charlton man lost control of his vehicle while traveling south on Southbridge Street, left the roadway, struck the Hampton Inn business sign, continued through a parking lot, and struck the front of Bucks’ BBQ. There were no injuries.
The front of the business sustained moderate damage but was not unstable. The crash is still under investigation by Officer Brandon Starkus.
Overnight Sunday, December 8, the Auburn Police Department made three operating under the influence arrests between 12:15 A.M. and 1 A.M. The first came when Officer Bryan Porcaro observed a vehicle on Route 20 (Washington Street) traveling at 71 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone. The operator, identified as Ian Parsons age-25 of 13 Church Street, Westborough, failed field sobriety tests and was then arrested for OUI Liquor, 2nd offense. He refused a Breathalyzer test at the station.
The second arrest came at 12:40 A.M. when Officer Justin Starkus observed a vehicle on Route 20 traveling at 53 mph in a 40 mph zone while crossing the marked lanes of the roadway. The operator, identified as Andrea Fahl age-37 of 43 Ramshorn Road Charlton, failed field sobriety tests and was then arrested. She later registered a .12% on the Breathalyzer at the Police Station. The legal limit in Massachusetts is 0.08%.
The third arrest came minutes later when Officer Brandon Starkus observed a vehicle stopped in the travel lane near the entrance to Interstate 290 on Route 20. The operator, identified as Eric Delgado age-42 of 116 Dudley Oxford Rd, Dudley, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. He later registered a .10 on the Breathalyzer at the Police Station.
