Last Friday, the Auburn Rockets decisively defeated the Uxbridge Spartans, 41-14. Mark Wright scored once in the first quarter, twice in the second and once in the third. Wright rushed 20, 26, 37, and 49 yards respectively.

Mike Jankowski also scored in the second after receiving a 20-yard pass from Adam Gustafson. Sophomore Jared Romero rushed for 7 yards in the third for the Rockets’ final TD. Junior Ryan Mulcahy kicked 5 successful extra points. Spartan Cam Steward wore multiple hats as he ran in TD’s in the first and fourth and kicked the extra points.

The fourth quarter looked like training camp for the Rockets with both younger and non-starting players hitting the gridiron. Sophomore Conor Scully did a decent job in the quarterback spot and this experience is invaluable. Auburn failed to add any points and did allow an Uxbridge TD, but learning is a process that takes time.

The Rockets will face David Prouty at home on Friday, 7pm. These teams did not meet in the regular season.
