Busy Thursday Morning for Auburn Fire Rescue

The Auburn Fire Rescue Department responded to two motor vehicle accidents requiring the use of an extrication tool within a six hour period early Thursday.

At 2:58 am Thursday, Auburn Fire Rescue responded to an auto accident with entrapment on Rt. 395. A single vehicle traveled about 80 feet off the roadway on the northbound side of I 395, near the Cedar Street overpass.  One patient was injured and was extricated from the vehicle and transported to UMass Medical Center.  The driver’s injuries were serious, but he is expected to survive.


Around 8:20 am, a call came in for a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Bancroft and Millbury Streets.  Three cars were involved, and one of the drivers had to be extricated from his vehicle.  The 48 year old Auburn man was transported to UMass Medical with moderate, but not life threatening injuries.  At this time, there was no word on charges or citations, and Auburn Police are reviewing the accident.
