roganDoris M. (Benoit) Courchaine Rogan, 91, of Auburn, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Saint Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her husband William J. Rogan Jr. of Auburn; five children, Karen A. Capurso of Millbury, Philip P. Courchaine and his wife Sheila of North Brookfield, twins Donna J. Zenkus-Daneault and her husband Bill of Auburn and David J. Courchaine and his wife Martha of South Padre Island, Texas, and Michael P. Courchaine and his husband Masih of Worcester; four stepchildren, William J. Rogan III of Worcester, Kevin J. Rogan and his wife Christine of Spencer, James N. “Jay” Rogan of Worcester, and Susan M. Pedone and her husband Francis of Spencer; 12 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; a sister, Rita Mullen Cerrone of Rutland; and many nieces and nephews.

Daughter of the late Ernest and Jennie (O’Connell) Benoit, she is predeceased by her first husband Paul E. Courchaine, her twin sister Gertrude Henry, a grandson Marc P. Zenkus, and her son in-law Michael C. Capurso. Born in Worcester, she moved to Paxton for 20 years and then to Auburn where she resided with her daughter.

Doris worked at the former Reed-Prentice Co., and later, Coppus Engineering Corp. until her retirement in 1983. She belonged to the Worcester AARP and the Joseph’s Senior Steppers. Her passion for dancing, concerts, weekly trips to the hair salon and the many church functions she attended with her husband sustained her throughout her life. Her love of family and friends will always be cherished.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, October 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. A celebration of Doris’ life will be held Monday, October 19, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford St., Auburn. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to a a charity of your choice in memory of Doris M. Rogan.
