Boys varsity soccer took their second loss of the season last Friday, falling to the visiting Rams 3-1. The Rockets failed to capitalize on many scoring opportunities, but the defense held tough against the very talented Shepherd Hill forwards. Late in the first half, an unfortunate self-score by Auburn gave the Hill an advantage the Rockets just couldn’t best.

Auburn would remain scoreless until Alex Strafer put the ball in with 6:40 left in the game. The re energized Rockets made several great attempts in the last few minutes, but fatigue and time worked against them.

Coach Chris Bailey assessed, “Overall, we played our best game of the week on Friday. Ball movement was good, we defended effectively, and our attack created opportunities. All things we didn’t do well against David Prouty and Leicester, but we won both those games.”  The boys face Baypath home today at 7:00.
