Robert Black’s Elvis Act Proves Popular

Robert Black returned to Auburn’s Riley-Pappas Pavilion at the Pappas Recreation Complex last night, and he did not disappoint the large crowd.

Let’s face it, Elvis impersonators have a sort of reputation.  But Black is not just an impersonator.  While he does a dead-on Elvis, Black is also a master showman.  Working the crowd, telling jokes, and belting out classic hits, Black has proven to be one of the more popular performers on the Summer in the Park concert series lineup.

Black had youngsters up on stage dancing as he crooned such favorites as Blue Suede Shoes, Jailhouse Rock and Return to Sender. Black even had some of the kids join in singing backup vocals during his rendition of Proud Mary.

On what may well have been the most pleasant evening of the summer, hundreds of people crowded the Marois Field and enjoyed a terrific show.
