by | May 7, 2015

The Auburn Women’s Club is sponsoring a talk by Sari Bitticks, President of the Auburn Historical Society, on America’s first murder for hire on May 12 at 7:30 at First Congregational Church, 128 Central St., Auburn.

Bathsheba Spooner was the wife of wealthy Worcester farmer, Joshua Spooner.  After an affair with a young revolutionary soldier resulted in an unwanted pregnancy, Bathsheba hired some acquaintances to murder her husband.

Come hear Sari Bitticks relate this fascinating story in a style only Sari can deliver.

The program is free and open to the public.
