Auburn Little League To Host MLB Hit, Pitch, Run Contest

Auburn Little League will play host to an MLB Hit, Pitch and Run contest on Sunday, May 3.

The competition will be held Sunday, May 3 on Fuller Field at the Pappas Recreation Complex.  The competition tests three fundamental basics of baseball/softball.

Pitch: Throwing strikes to a designated “Strike Zone” target
Hit: Hitting a ball off a stationary tee for distance and accuracy
Run: Time starting from second base, touching third then touching home plate.

All participants must complete in all three components and their score is an accumulation of all three individual scores.

The winners of the Auburn competition will have the opportunity to advance to sectional competitions. There is one champion per age and gender group in each division.

Age groups will be broken out as follows:
Age 7/8 Born between July 18, 2006 – July 17, 2008
Age 9/10 Born between July 18, 2004 – July 17, 2006
Age 11/12 Born between July 18, 2002 – July 17, 2004
Age 13/14 Born between Jul8 18, 2000 – July 17, 2002

1. All participants MUST provide a copy of a valid birth certificate for age verification.
2. Each youngster may compete in only one local competition.
3. No metal spikes are allowed.
