Senator Moore Appointed to Special Committee on Opioid Addiction Prevention

Boston, MA- On Tuesday, March 2, 2105 the Massachusetts State Senate adopted an order to establish a Special Senate Committee on Opioid Addiction Prevention, Treatment and Recovery Options. Senator Michael Moore is pleased to announce that he has been appointed as a member of the Committee.

The special committee of the Senate has been established to make an investigation and study of opioid addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery options. The special committee will review existing state statutes and funding, as well as the implementation and enforcement of recently enacted substance abuse legislation, and make recommendations to further strengthen opioid abuse prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery options and access to such programs for all residents of the Commonwealth.

“I am grateful to the Senate President for appointing me to this special committee and I look forward to working with my colleagues to try to tackle these difficult issues,” said Senator Moore.

Senator Moore is one of ten members of the Senate appointed to this bipartisan committee.
