Shrewsbury, MA- Central One Federal Credit Union hosts Road to Financial Independence for Shrewsbury High School Students.

For the past 4 years, Central One Federal Credit Union has conducted financial literacy classes at Shrewsbury High School. These classes focus on the basic tools every student needs in order to achieve financial independence as young adults. As part of the class, students are required to complete a project which includes working together in groups to come up with a real-life budget based on their income and living expenses. Upon completion of the course, students are given a certificate worth a 0.50% discount off their first car loan at Central One.

Students from Mrs. Rabecca Moisan’s Accounting class at Shrewsbury High School were invited to spend the day at Central One Federal Credit Union’s Shrewsbury location. Dressed in business attire, they presented their financial projects to Central One employees. While at Central One yesterday, students were also met by members of the Central One staff including Branch Managers Joan Day, David Kaiser, Owen Russell and Kate Shaw; Member Support Manager Christine Bates; and Controller Joe Rollo. Topics related to making good financial decisions for your future, and careers in banking were discussed.
