2015 Auburn Election Season is Upon Us

Nomination papers for the Town of Auburn’s 2015 annual Town election will be available beginning February 2.  The election will be on Tuesday, May 19.

One Auburn Housing Authority Member for 5 years
Two Library Trustees, Auburn Free Public Library for 3 years
One Moderator for  1 year
Two School Committee Members for  3 years
One School Committee Member for 1 year
Two Board of Selectmen Members for  3 years
One Town Clerk for 3 years

Precinct One:   8 members to be elected 3 years
Precinct Two:  8 to be elected for 3 years; 2 to be elected for 1 year unexpired terms; and 1 to be elected for an unexpired 2 year term.
Precint Three:  8 to be elected for 3 years; 1 to be elected for a 2 year unexpired term
Precinct Four:  8 to be elected for 3 years
Precint Five:     8 to be elected for 3 year terms

Residents interested in running for any position can visit the Auburn Town Clerk’s office for a nomination papers package.  Residents need to collect 50 certified signatures to earn a place on the ballot for all positions except Town Meeting.  Town Meeting candidates need only collect 10 certified signatures from residents within their own precinct.

Nomination papers must be returned to the Town Clerk’s office by April 1, 2015 at 5pm.

As for voters, if you are not already, you have until April 29 at 8pm to register to vote. The Town Clerk’s office will be open extended hours from 8am to 8pm that day.
