The By Law Review Committee was established by Town Manager Julie Jacobson and first met on August 29, 2011. After three and a half years, the 129-page document is ready for public review. Readers can access the manuscript in the Town News section of The Auburn Guide.

The review was necessary after the Auburn Town Charter changes in 2009, Jacobson’s reorganization plan in 2011, and other factors occurring over time.

Two public hearings have been set so residents can offer input on the process. The first is Tuesday, January 27th at 7:15pm in the high school auditorium. The snow date is Thursday, January 29th.

The second hearing is Monday, February 2nd at 7:15pm in the high school auditorium with a snow date of Tuesday, February 3rd.

After the hearings, Town Counsel Robert Hennigan will incorporate any changes before presenting to the Committee on February 23th. The Board of Selectmen will then set a special town meeting to approve the modifications.
That meeting is planned for March 24th and will also be needed to authorize the school repairs approved by the MSBA last week.
