Over 130 seniors, and even a few grand kids, packed the Lorraine Gleick Nordgren Senior Center on Monday for Sen. Michael Moore’s annual turkey dinner.

Guests were treated to turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and corn.  Numerous local volunteers assisted in the preparation and serving.

Prior to dinner being served, Senior Center Director, Mignonne Murray and Council on Aging Chair Connie McBrier announced that Ed and Anita Sweeney had been awarded the Senior Center Volunteer Award for their service at the Senior Center and within the elder community.  Senator Michael Moore also presented the Sweeneys with citations from the Massachusetts Senate commemorating their achievement.

Sen. Moore, School Committee member Jessica Harrington and Selectman Denise Brotherton worked alongside a number of senior center volunteers to serve the guests.  Selectman Doreen Goodrich, Moore staff member Joe Martin and Moore Chief of Staff Shelly MacNeill worked the kitchen, carving turkeys and plating dinners.

The food was excellent, and all of the guests were very appreciative to Senator Moore and to all of the volunteers for another successful event.
