The Houston Bernard Band at The Ranch

by | Nov 12, 2014

Boston’s premier Country Music Band will be making their first Worcester appearance.

Houston Bernard was born in Oklahoma, a descendant of the outlaw George ‘Bitter Creek’ Newcombe who rode with the Dalton, James and Doolin gangs when the state was a territory. His father and uncle were a staple duo in the Nashville music scene in the 1970s playing with legends like Wanda Jackson, Dave Dudley, Tanya Tucker, Sleepy LaBeef and so many more.

Bernard spent his teen years in Worcester, performing locally starting at the age of 12. He attended high school and college in the city and served in the Army for several years before setting out to pursue a full time career as an entertainer in NYC.

Following some underground success with his solo performances that took him all over North America and Europe, he finally returned to Boston. It was there that he put together a group of talented musicians who have since become one of the most talked about Country music acts in New England.

Their reputation of getting the adrenaline flowing in the audience has earned them the opportunity to share the stage with Jake Owen, Scotty McCreery, The Eli Young Band, Josh Thompson, Pure Prairie League, Cadillac 3, Delbert McClinton, 38 Special and many more.

Their brand of original music is fresh and hard-hitting and they bring vitality and grit to modern Country and classic hits. The Houston Bernard Band has re-imagined the standard fried Country Music and instead serves it up fresh and raw. This is a show not to be missed.
