The Philadelphia Story, by Philip Barry, is a witty romantic comedy about a haughty socialite, Tracy Lord, whose wedding plans are complicated by the simultaneous arrival of both her light-hearted ex-husband and a handsome tabloid reporter. Filled with clever one-liners, the play was a huge success on Broadway when it opened in 1939 with Katharine Hepburn playing the lead. It went on to the silver screen, again starring Hepburn, along with Cary Grant and James Stewart.

This is the opening play of Stageloft’s 2015 Season. The Philadelphia Story will be directed by Dave Glanville and has roles for 9 men and 6 women.

Performance dates for The Philadelphia Story are January 16-31. Actors will audition by reading scenes from the script. Character descriptions can be found at our website: Please call 508-347-9005 with questions.
