5 Auburn Businesses Caught Selling Alcohol to Minors

The Auburn Police Department conducted an underage compliance check of all Auburn establishments licensed to sell alcohol.  Five businesses have been cited for selling to the underage participant, who was working with Auburn officers.

Auburn Package Store, Shell on Rt. 20, 99 Restaurant, Century Sportsman’s Club, and Major League Roast Beef will all face a violation hearing on October 14.

The checks were held on September 16 and 17.  Auburn Police published notifications of these checks in local media, although the specific dates were not announced.  Working with police officers, a minor was sent into each Auburn outlet with only money to purchase a specific alcoholic item; he or she did not carry any identification.  Authorities were looking for the outlets’ compliance in requesting appropriate identification from parties attempting to purchase alcohol.

Establishments that are found selling alcohol to minors face fine, license suspension, or even license revocation for multiple offenses.
