The 2014 Summer in the Park concert series is winding down, but that doesn’t mean the quality of the bands is letting up. Tonight, Worcester’s ‘Valvatross’ is set to entertain at the Pappas Recreation Complex’ Riley-Pappas Pavilion. Show time is at 6pm, with a rain date of Tuesday, August 26.
Valvatross takes the music of R&B’s golden era and then some, as they infuse years of talent and experience and make it all their own. Blues, Funk, Soul and good ol’ driving Rock & Roll are all in Valvatrosss’ unique show. Each tune gets its own spin complete with all the emotion, slick arrangement, drive and joy the band has to offer.
The band’ original material is as dynamic, soulful, funky and exciting as the best Stax, Volt, and Motown singles. The show is guaranteed to make you smile and dance. Each musician is a dynamic soloist, as well as an integral support player of a well-oiled machine. The 9 piece band can drop on a dime to a whisper, and then just as quickly bring the crowd to their feet as they build and crescendo to a roar.
The band is:
Reagan Burrows – vocals
Steve LeClaire – tenor sax
Todd Dufault – guitar & vocals
Allen Kiefer – baritone & alto sax
John Bianchi – keyboards & vocals
Roger Grover – trumpet
Alex Radiches Jr – drums
Russ Bogartz – trombone
Bob Palermo – bass & vocals
These seasoned musicians have performed at some of the top venues in New England including Tammany Hall; The Yard in Manchester, NH; Gilrien’s; Sit N’ Bull; Newport Blues Café; and Union Blues to name just a few.
