School Buses Leak Gasoline – Vandalism Suspected

by | Aug 12, 2014

Two separate school buses were leaking gasoline, creating a mess for Auburn Fire and Police Monday morning.  One bus was at the Kane’s Shell station on Southbridge St. at the corner of Swanson Rd.  The second bus was disabled at Cumberland Farms at the corner of Rt. 20 and South St.  Both locations experienced traffic delays as a result of the leaks and containment efforts.

Vandalism is suspected in the incidents, and Auburn Police are investigation.  According to Auburn Fire Chief Stephen Coleman, Auburn Fire Rescue contained the fuel spills, and the Department of Environmental Protection was notified.

We have contacted Auburn Police as to the status of the investigation, and will report any additional information as we receive it.
