When boys varsity hockey makes the final round of the Dana Willard Tournament, fans know the season started well and there is promise for the remainder of the winter.
Auburn bested the Worcester team 3-0 in the semi-final, On a power play goal in the second period, Adam Lanier netted the first goal of the game and season with Cam Dungey and Ryan Lempicki assisting. At 7:33 in the third, Lempicki scored with Dungey assisting again, and Lempicki got his second goal with one second left on an open net.
Auburn went on to defeat North Middlesex 2-1 at Horgan Saturday night to take the title. Ryan Lempicki and Nick Spanos each scored while goalkeeper Mike Sosik notched 24 saves to secure the W.
