The AHS girls varsity team began their season on Dec. 6 when Uxbridge came to town. The Rockets had a rather stunning 31-9 victory led by Semran Sahota’s 10 points and 13 boards. Victoria Murphy put up 8 and Molly Cutting followed with 6.

Coach Nicole LePrevost commented after the game, “We didn’t make playoffs last year, and I’ve got 5 seniors who are very hungry to win.”

Last Saturday, Classical High School from Providence, Rhode Island took on Auburn in the Pappas Gymnasium. Classical won 53-42, but Sahota again had a great game with 12 points and 10 rebounds in this high scoring matchup. Murphy had 8 points while Cutting and Emily Turcotte each had 5.

Last night, Auburn took down David Prouty 36-33 and overcoming a half time 19-13 deficit. Sahota had another 12 point game with 10 boards while Cutting and Jackie Landry each had a pair of 3-pointers.

It does, indeed, look like these girls are hungry, and the scoring is spread nicely across their roster. Today’s slideshow is from the Uxbridge game and shows the Spartans’ aggressive defense.
