The Fur Friends of Auburn held a Pups ‘N Pints fundraiser on June 24th to help reach their goal of funding an Auburn dog park.

The event was held on June 24th at Rapscallion Brewery in Sturbridge and attended by approximately 40 dogs and their owners and friends. All dogs were exceptionally behaved and enjoyed socializing and snacking on home made Pupcake. Human guests enjoyed complimentary snacks and desserts which were provided by the Fur-Friends of Auburn through donations.

Local businesses, mostly from Auburn and Sturbridge, were extremely generous and donated over 30 items for door prizes and for the raffle table. This event brought in almost $3,500 for the Fur-Friends of Auburn, a non-profit, 501(C)(3) raising money for the Auburn Dog Park. The dog park initiative has been going on for several years. The Town Meeting approved a recommended location at Lemansky Recreation Complex (Rocketland) in 2017.

Thus far, the Fur-Friends of Auburn have raised almost $10,000 toward their portion of funds for the dog park. The Town of Auburn will apply for a grant from the Stanton Foundation, which will pay for 90% of the dog park, but the grant application cannot be submitted until the Fur-Friends of Auburn has reached their funding goal of approximately $15,000.
