The second of two public meetings to discuss the feasibility of constructing a public swimming pool in the Town of Auburn will be held tonight in the Presentation Room at Auburn High School at 6:00 PM.
The meetings are part of a $30,000 grant given to the Town from the Pappas Foundation to fund the study. The Town also recently circulated a survey to gather public input on the proposed swimming pool. In addition to the public outreach component, the study is to include a needs assessment, market analysis, site analysis, concept options and a financial analysis to assist the Town in determining whether to pursue the construction and operation of a town-owned swimming pool. The financial analysis would encompass the construction and project implementation, as well as estimated annual maintenance, repair and operating costs of a public swimming pool facility.
Auburn has used the grant to contract with BCS, an engineering and planning consultancy based out of Boston, MA.
For additional information, you can contact Rachel Pressey in the Town Manager’s office, (508) 832-7720 ext. 1260, or firstname.lastname@example.org. The meeting will be televised live on local cable access channel 192.
